Buxton Mountain Rescue

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team

Thanks for supporting the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.

We are a team of 65 active and 15 support team members. We are on call 365 days per year, 24 hours a day. We cover an area of 500Km2 within the Peak District National Park. The team is 100% voluntary, and we receive no central funding. It costs around £50,000 to run the team each year.

We will use the money raised from the Great North Swim keep our stock of first aid equipment replensished, which costs around £2,500 per year.

We attend around 120 call-outs per year, which is rising year on year. The bulk of our call-outs are associated with the upland areas of the Peak District, but we also help the other emergency services, more and more, with incidents in and around the urban fringes.

We have 5 participants taking part in the event, and it would be great if you could help them each reach, or exceed, their individual target of £500

Thanks for your support.
