My Story

I’m taking on the Coventry Building Society Great North Swim across Windermere on Friday 12th June at 5.30pm – and it’s my first ever lake swim! I’m doing it to raise funds for Annie Mawson's Sunbeams Music Trust, a truly inspiring charity that transforms lives through the power of music.

Sunbeams provides specialist community music therapy to disabled children and adults across Cumbria, helping people of all ages – from those with physical disabilities and dementia to learning difficulties and mental health challenges – find confidence, joy, connection and wellbeing through live music.

As a musician, this cause is close to my heart – music brings people together and can unlock potential where other approaches struggle. Please give generously on my fundraising page to help Sunbeams continue this life-enhancing work.

The Coventry Building Society Great North Swim is the UKs biggest & best open water swimming event, and gives participants a chance to immerse themselves in nature in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Windermere.
