Luisa F. Estrada
My Story
I'm Luisa, and once again I've decided that voluntarily swimming 5K is a good idea 🥽
That's why I'm returning to the Great North Swim this 12th of June!
The time to beat: 2h 9min ⏱️
As always, I want to make it count by fundraising for people waiting for transplants and the families beside them throughout the process.
This cause is especially close to my heart. My dad received a kidney transplant in late 2019 after years on dialysis, and it truly gave him a second chance at life. You could literally see the colour coming back to his face. Now I'm putting my endurance to the test one more time in the 5K swim, which feels like nothing next to the resilience of those still waiting for their perfect match 🫀
Donate here if you'd like to show your support! I'll also be sharing training updates, race prep, and probably a few chaotic swimming moments along the way, so stay tuned.
Get ready, set… gogogo! 🏊♂️
Nothing is the same without the friends you make along the way
This is not my first rodeo. The distance is long, but somehow it feels easier with the right people beside you. This year's team deserves a proper shoutout.
The dream team
Molly: The veteran. She knows the ropes, keeps an impeccable pace, and brings hot chocolate and strawberries to our outdoor swims.
Nicola: A walking sunshine, taekwondo beast and physically incapable of sitting still.
Pablo: Early bird, permanently hungry, strangely immune to cold water, and responsible for planting earworms with his playlists.
And me? I'm the coach. I made the training plan, keep everyone in check, and accept absolutely no excuses. Evil genius behind the Shark game 🦈
